CANDLE CARE AND SAFETY

Before

Before using:

  1. Trim the wick - Candle wicks should be 1/4 inch long prior to lighting. Any longer and you are sure to see soot around the jar/vessel! Untrimmed wicks burn hotter than intended, which can result in a deeper burning pool that leads to fragrance oil escaping. This means that on the next burn, the candle will not emit a strong scent as it had already been burned too deeply.

  2. Find an even-level, fire-resistant surface - Only burn your candles and wax warmers on a fire-resistant, leveled surface to avoid accidents that can result in injury and/or property damage.

  3. Remove any debris - Packaging is carefully thought of. However, sometimes small particles can make their way into the vessel (rarely) and must be cleared before use.

During

While burning:

  1. Keep an eye - Never leave a burning candle unattended, especially when there are children and/or pets in your space. It is recommended that you are in the same room as the burning candle.

  2. No sleeping - Do not sleep while your candle is burning in order to avoid accidents that can lead to bodily injury and/or property damage. Only light your candle when you can safely keep your eyes open and extinguish it before you leave or take a nap.

  3. Max burning time - It is always best to burn your candle for a maximum of 3 hours. This will ensure the longevity of the fragrance as well as avoid overheating of the vessel.

  4. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE A BURNING CANDLE. The jar/vessel will be hot and the melted wax can spill, causing bodily injury and/or property damage.

After

After enjoying your scented candle:

  1. Extinguishing - When you are done with the candle, you can extinguish it using several methods: by gently dipping the wick into the melted wax with a metal dipper, by using a candle snuffer, or gently blowing out the flame. Be careful that you do not use a forceful breath because the wax can splash on you or your furniture.

  2. Clean up - While the wax is in its melted phase, you can do quick clean-ups using a metal candle dipper to remove fallen wick debris. Do not touch the wax and hot jar/vessel because this could lead to serious burn injuries, as well as property damage even if the flame is out.

  3. Let cool - DO NOT MOVE CANDLE WHILE WAX IS MELTED. Once you extinguish the flame, please let the vessel cool before attempting to move it. The vessel can still be extremely hot by this point. Be sure that it is cool to touch and that the wax has hardened before carrying. Candles are best stored away from sunlight.
